Since Kindlehart is going to be a recurring event, are the rewards all going to stay the same each year? Or are some potentially going to be phased out for other things at some point or maybe changed entirely?

Parallax: Great question! One of the main goals of our recurring seasonal events, like Kindlehart, is to ensure players always have an opportunity to earn the rewards, even if they were unable to participate in a previous year. Because of that, the core rewards from the event will not be removed in future runs. As the event returns over time, we may introduce additional new rewards, but existing rewards will remain obtainable. On rare occasions we may introduce a reward that is intended to be limited to a specific run of the event. Whenever that happens, it will be clearly communicated in the publish notes.
Looting Rights
Question
Can we get a technical breakdown of what it takes to get "looting rights," as in access to corpse loot versus on the "top contributor list," as in access to specialty drops? Also how many total people can be on the "top contributor list"?
Answer
Bleak: There are actually two different systems at work here: corpse looting rights and eligibility for special rewards. They are related, but not always the same.
①Top Contributor List (Corpse Looting Rights)
You can think of the Top Contributor list as grading on a curve. Each player's contribution, based on a combination of damage dealt, damage taken, and healing done, is compared against the highest-contributing player in the encounter. To be placed on the list, your contribution must meet or exceed a percentage of that top player's contribution.
If the leading player contributes a very large amount, everyone else must also contribute more to remain on the list. Being on this list is what grants looting rights to the corpse. The size of the list varies by encounter, but the typical default is the top 16 contributors. Some recent event bosses have expanded this cap so more players can receive credit.
②Special / Rare Rewards
Special drops are handled separately and depend on the specific encounter:
• Some encounters select the top X players from the Top Contributor list to roll for special rewards.
• Other encounters use a completely separate participation-credit system.
For example, Event Moderator (EM) bosses can award special rewards even if you did not have corpse looting rights.
In short: corpse looting rights and special reward eligibility often overlap, but they are not universally tied together and can be configured differently depending on the encounter.
Kindlehart Flame Extraction
Question
When players gather resources in Felucca the amount received is twice that of when they are extracted from Trammel. Does this hold true for the extraction of Kindlehart essence?

Parallax: Kindlehart Essence gained from creatures is determined by the difficulty of the creature and does not change based on facet. You will receive the same amount whether you are in Trammel or Felucca. However, Kindlehart Shards do receive a Felucca bonus. Extracting Essence from Kindlehart Shards on the Felucca facet will yield an increased amount compared to Trammel.
Uber Rare Boss Drops
Question
When it drops, is it limited to one per spawn? Can multiple characters get the uber rare drop? Luck does not affect it, iirc. If there is a limit of one drop, how does the system decide who gets the drop? Is the chance proportional to your score (damage + healing)?
Answer
Parallax: It depends on the specific encounter. For encounters such as the Kindlehart Tempest and the Umbrascale Matriarch, the rarest rewards are not limited to a single drop. Each player who earns participation credit receives a loot satchel, and every eligible player independently rolls for the items within their own satchel. This means multiple players can receive the ultra-rare reward from the same spawn.
Some past encounters were different. For example, Victor Blackthorn on New Legacy was configured to distribute only a single instance of the rarest item across all participants.
Eligibility to receive an item is based on participation, and once you qualify, your chance at the rare items is the same as any other credited player.
Kindlehart Letters
Question
For Kindlehart, how many different names are there for the letters of affection?
